As a member of CVAC, you are invited to apply for a Certified
Canadian Virtual Assistant accreditation.
CVAC has established the first Virtual Assistant
certification program in Canada. Applications are open to
members of CVAC only. Certification
shows your potential clients and fellow VAs that your experience
and professionalism is at a level that enables you to provide
the best in services and assistance. It also shows that
you are recognized by your peers as being exceptional in
the industry and highly recommended for assignments that
require your specialty. Your commitment to excellence and
your passion for your business are a part of you and shines
through in your assignments and customer service.
How to Apply:
There are several procedures that must be followed in
order to apply for your CCVA Certification.
The first step will be to answer some Virtual Assistant
industry and small business related questions. These questions
range from the basic to specific questions for which the
answers will prove your knowledge of the industry and the
procedures needed to run a virtual small business.
The second step will be to provide some background information
regarding your education and business experience.
The third step will involve writing a short essay relating
why you started this business and what your aspirations
are for the future.
The final step will be to put all the information together
in professional format, and include a few other pieces of
information to help establish your professionalism.
Below you will find a link taking you to the listing of
documents that need to be filled in and returned to CVAC for consideration.
How will your application be judged?:
Judges of your entry
will include your fellow VAs, those that have established
a presence as industry leaders. Each part of the application
will be judged on a point system. Several judges will evaluate
your entry and assign points for each part. These points
will then be combined and averaged out to give you an average
point total. That point total will determine whether you
are eligible for the Certified Canadian Virtual Assistant
accreditation. If your point total is not sufficient to
receive the accreditation, we will provide you with reasons
and tips for re-applying (if necessary). You are then welcome
to re-apply at any time.
What is the cost?:
For those with a full membership in CVAC , a payment of
$50 must be paid upfront by credit card or accompany your application. (Join
CVAC today to take advantage of the lower rate for certification)
For those with a limited membership in CVAC, a payment of
$75 be paid up front by credit card or must accompany your application.
Should your application and its contents be insufficient
for receiving the CCVA accreditation, a grace period of
3 months will be allowed to re-apply. If you re-apply in
that time-frame, your original application fee will be applied
to this new application. However, if you re-apply after
the three-month period or if your second application is
still not sufficient enough to receive accreditation, you
must provide another application fee ($50.00)
What happens once I have been approved?:
With the number of applications that are being submitted,
the timeframe for approval may be a little extended. Please
do not be alarmed if you do not hear from us right away.
Once you have been approved, you will be forwarded your
CCVA button which you are asked to display proudly on your
website (and link back to http://www.CVAC.ca). You are
then free to include CCVA behind your name on anything business
related (ie. Jane Doe, CCVA).
